The SangroValley has almost all of its territory protected by the presence of several nature reserves and two national parks:

Most important are the faggete forest of Saint Antonio in Pescocostanzo, woods from Campitelli to Alfedena and Defense in addition to Pescasseroli-old oak forest of Madonna degli Eremiti in Castel di Sangro
