Things to see

The Alto Sangro has almost all of its territory protected by the presence of various nature reserves and two National Parks:

NATIONAL PARK OF ABRUZZO LAZIO AND MOLISE
established in 1922

MAIELLA NATIONAL PARK
recently established

Worth noting are the beech woods of the Sant’ Antonio wood in Pescocostanzo, the Campitelli woods in Alfedena and the Difesa in Pescasseroli as well as the centuries-old oak wood in the wood of the Madonna degli eremiti in Castel Di Sangro.
